Maverick Concepts
The Story
This material is produced by Maverick Concepts from their Artizin line of products. This material is made entirely from recycled plastic and is know as ArtFelt.
Ideation: Concept Development
At Maverick, they tasked us with create potential products for them to further develop and possibly produce in their next Artizin product line.
My initial concepts were centered around modularity and desk utilization.
Further Development
Taking these two ideas, I combined and further developed the potential of having modular options for storing things both efficiently, and while giving options to the user
Base Design Feature
The development of this product started with this patterned design feature. These crosses allow for a sturdy and modular ability to join and mount pieces together in a way that is impermanent.
Interaction Points
This interaction point was the chosen direction because it can be made by one piece that is folded, and it provides significant support while also maintaining a sleek visual appearance.
